SELF CARE THE ANNE FONTAINE WAY

Who says self care is just for Sunday?

If our designer Anne knows anything, aside from fashion and design, she knows a thing or two about self-care and how taking time for ourselves is crucial to our overall health and wellness.

Practicing self-care has become increasingly essential now more than ever, after over two years, the Covid-19 pandemic has changed the way we live and work forever.

Whether it be a simple update to your morning routine, walks outside to take in the fresh air and beauty of nature ( a favorite for Anne), or just creating a family ritual focused on nourishing that spark of joy for life.

We have gathered tips and ideas from our ANNE FONTAINE team to help nourish your physical, emotional, spiritual, or mental health in some form. Discover their tips and best practices below for how they strive to be the best versions of themselves.

Anne Fontaine, Designer + Founder

  • It is very important to hydrate our skin, especially in the Winter months. I prefer to use an organic coconut oil, as it’s always important to opt for organic products as much as possible.
  • Once a week I like to rinse my hair with a coconut-based hair treatment to promote a healthier scalp.
  • Finally, I like to make my own facial mask using a combination of honey and limes. I do this once a month, and the benefits are great for helping to alleviate any dark spots on the skin.

Joseph Ojeda, General Manager at Anne Fontaine, Madison Avenue

  • Yoga! Whether it be at home, in a studio, or virtual; it’s great for both the body and mind.
  • I enjoy reading for an hour a day, 30 minutes on the train and 30 minutes before bed.
  • I do a weekly juice prep with a combination of juices and veggies using my favorite Smeg appliances – This ensures that I am getting all my added vitamins and nutrients.

Amanda Blynn, General Manager at Anne Fontaine, Boston

  • It’s important to move your body daily. I aim to get in at least 10,000 steps a day, as well I found that breathing through my nose (instead of my mouth) instills a sense of balance and tranquility.
  • I try to only use products on my skin, hair and body that are natural and free of chemicals.
  • I aim to drink a gallon of water every day. Especially during the Winter months when the heat is on high and the air is dry and you have to wear a mask all day — hydration is so,so important, down to the cellular level.

Patricia Melot, Sales Administration and Commercial Dept. Manager, Europe

  • I enjoy being outside in my garden - it's my place where I find peace and I enjoy being out there as much as possible, especially in the warmer months.
  • I plan to swim at least twice at week at my local fitness center, swimming promotes a healthy lifestyle.
  • Finally, on the weekends I prioritize my time to be with my family, as it renourishes me, and it is important to disconnect from work and spend quality time together with loved ones.

Julie Rigaux, Merchandise Planner Manager

  • I enjoy visiting the local market on the weekends with my son, on a warm, sunny day, and shopping for healthy items, and of course for a selection of French cheeses with a “baguette de pain”
  • Planning an impromptu picnic with family and friends and enjoying the French countryside while being disconnected is a great pleasure for me.
  • Travelling with friends with only a tent and the necessary items to fit in one bag, and enjoying a warm meal at a countryside inn allows me to connect with nature and enjoy the simplicities in life.

Kelly Callahan, US E-commerce Manager

  •  I enjoy spending as much time as possible outdoors, I find that being surrounded by nature promotes of sense of grounding that is beneficial to both our moods and health.
  • Daily I will diffuse essential oils such as Lemon and Peppermint. Both are good for promoting a positive mood as well clearing out toxins from the air in your home.
  • Enjoying quality time with family and friends always lifts my spirits and reminds me of what is most important in life.
